The main goal was organizing a General Assembly of a European Camping Federation and better positioning of Serbia as a camping destination on a European market. The given event assembled representatives of 23 national associations of the most developed camping destinations, and at the same time it was an opportunity to promote a tourist offer of the Republic of Serbia and the City of Belgrade, as well as to promote new investments in the camping sector of the region. Also, the goal of this project was CAS’ lobbying with European Federation for supporting a new legislation in the camping sector of the Republic of Serbia, which was adjusted according to EU standards.
Results:
- Presenting and promoting Serbia as a new camping tourist destination in Europe to esteemed guests from associations of 23 European countries;
- Informing the public opinion, expert community and potential investors about the camping offer and the potential of camping in Serbia;
- Attracting new country investments in the camping area;
- Promoting new legislation in the camping sector of the Republic of Serbia.
Camping Association of Serbia with its partners: Ministry of Economy, Tourist Organization of Belgrade, European Federation of Camping Organizations and Vacation Parks – EFCO&HPA, conducted this project from September 2008 to April 2009. The project enjoyed the support of USAID, Tourist organization of Belgrade, Tourist organization of Serbia and Ministry of Economy and Regional Development – Sector for Tourism.
